Interpreter; Bilingual Japanese​/English

A leading air conditioning company in Waller, TX, is seeking a translator.

Qualification:

• Study all relevant vocabulary and basic knowledge of HVAC industry, equipment and technologies
• Perform written translation of any documents in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF inclusive of e‑mail communications
• Provide accurate but comprehensive interpretation that allows listeners and speakers to gain maximum result from such communication
• Render messages from one language to another accurately, without omissions and additions, and maintaining message content, context, and style as much as possible
• Maintain professional demeanor in presentation and communication style
• Assist with creating and editing presentations and coordinating meetings
• Identify and resolve conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors
• Operate with a high level of integrity and proper handling and protection of sensitive and confidential information
• Know industry specific terminology, referencing glossaries and training materials
• Perform additional activities/projects as assigned

Knowledge and

Skills:

• Language proficiency in English and Japanese both verbal and written
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy of information
• Effective organizational and time‑management skills including ability to prioritize tasks along with sense of urgency
• Working knowledge of MS Office – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF and interpret in online meetings
• Must possess a positive attitude and good interpersonal skills to interact daily with internal and external employees as well as senior leaders and executive staff
• Ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information

Experience:

• 3+ consecutive years of experience working as a full‑time simultaneous interpreter or 5+ years’ experience as a freelance simultaneous interpreter of Japanese and English
• Interpreter in a manufacturing environment (including simultaneous interpretation) minimum 3 years experience required

Salary: 70K~106K BOE

Education:

• BS in Interpretation

• Interpretation in the manufacturing facilities is required
