Are you a seasoned real estate attorney looking to bring your expertise to a company that’s shaping the future of clean energy? Our client, a leading developer, owner, and operator of wind, solar, transmission, and energy storage projects, is seeking a Senior Real Estate Counsel to join their dynamic legal team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a real estate lawyer with at least 10 years of experience — ideally including renewable energy project development — who’s eager to take on a high-impact in-house role with visibility, leadership, and a path for advancement.
What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Real Estate, the Senior Real Estate Counsel will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of utility-scale projects. You’ll be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating real estate agreements related to electric transmission, wind, and solar facilities — helping to secure the property rights essential to the company’s mission.
You’ll also:
- Serve as a legal advisor and strategic partner to developers and internal stakeholders
- Coordinate with landowners’ and investment partners’ counsel
- Collaborate with local counsel to ensure agreements meet state-specific requirements
- Work closely with title companies and surveyors to ensure quality and timeliness
- Mentor and support junior attorneys on the real estate legal team
Why This Role Stands Out:
This is more than a traditional in-house counsel role. It’s a chance to work at the heart of the energy transition with a forward-thinking company that’s actively developing and operating mission-critical infrastructure. You’ll have the opportunity to build cross-functional relationships and help shape how the legal team supports large-scale projects across the country.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 10–15 years of experience in real estate law, with a strong background in development work
- Experience with renewable energy projects is strongly preferred
- Skilled in negotiating complex real estate agreements
- Collaborative, business-minded, and eager to lead and mentor others
