Overview
LHH is assisting an international defense law firm that specializes in employment, labor, and corporate law located in over 100 offices around the world seek a Litigation Paralegal for their Houston office. The paralegal will assist attorneys and other paralegals in all stages of the litigation process.
- Salary ranges based on years of experience $84,700 - $124,700
- Hybrid position where you can work 2 days remotely
- Annual discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance (3-5%)
- Full Benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401K
- 3 weeks PTO (accrued through the year)
13 paid holidays
No Plaintiff law firm experience applicants apply - its too difficult to clear conflicts
Defense firm experience only
Requirements- Bachelors degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
- Minimum of 4 years of litigation paralegal experience at a Texas Defense law firm
- Must have experience in Labor & Employment and Corporate litigation matters
- Initial review of each case to assist attorneys’ evaluation of each case
. Draft case chronologies, “cast of characters”, answers and other pleadings; oversee receipt and intake of client documents. - Coordinate the written and documentary discovery process.
- Coordinate and handle deposition process.
- Coordinate creation of litigation support database.
- Assist in factual investigations
. Assist in or coordinate with investigators witnesses searches, interview clients, employees, or third-party witnesses, conduct public records searches, review and summarize employment and medical records for attorney review - Coordinate and assist in trial preparation.
- Perform basic legal and medical research
, utilizing library books, online research tools and internet, cite checking and shepardizing. - File maintenance within Firm standard. Prepare files for storage or return to client.
- Assist in the post-trial and appeal process by performing such tasks as polling jury members, drafting memoranda of costs, cite-checking Motions for JNOV and/or new trial and appellate briefs, and creating and coordinating the assembly of excerpts of record.
