Senior Litigation Paralegal

HKM Employment Attorneys LLP is a national plaintiff’s-side employment law firm. With offices throughout the United States. We have an immediate open for a senior litigation paralegal in our Houston office. We fight for the rights of employees in cutting edge employment law cases across the United States. The Houston office is seeking a senior-level litigation paralegal who is not just technically strong, but aligned with our plaintiff-side, trial-driven, justice-oriented culture. This person will be a core member of our litigation team, working directly with attorneys on high-stakes employment cases.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 5-7+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with a strong preference for employment law (Title VII, ADA, FMLA, retaliation, whistle blower, etc.)
• Substantial experience with:
  • Discovery (drafting, responding, tracking, ESI, depo prep)
  • Court filings (state and federal)
  • Trial preparation and exhibit management
  • Calendaring, deadlines, and case logistics
• Strong legal writing and drafting skills (pleadings, discovery, client correspondence, chronologies, summaries)

We are not looking for a junior or administrative paralegal position. This is a litigation-driven, attorney-facing role.

This person must be:

• Extremely detail-oriented – mistakes in filings, deadlines, or exhibits are unacceptable
• Deadline-driven – understands court rules, scheduling orders, and that litigation is unforgiving
• Hard-working and reliable – someone the attorneys can trust when the pressure is on
• Proactive – anticipates problems, flags issues, and moves cases forward without being told
