Labor and Employment Associate Attorney
Location: Houston, TX
Compensation: $240,000 base salary (commensurate with experience)
Direct Counsel is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join a nationally recognized Labor and Employment practice at a leading law firm in its Houston office.
The ideal candidate will have approximately 2 years of labor and employment litigation experience
, with exposure to fast-paced, high-stakes employment matters in both state and federal courts.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Handling labor and employment litigation matters, including:
- Temporary restraining orders and temporary injunction proceedings
- Trade secret misappropriation and non-compete litigation
- Wage and hour class and collective actions
- Single-plaintiff employment litigation
- Conducting discovery, motion practice, and legal research
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and other court filings
- Assisting with trial preparation and participating in settlement conferences and negotiations
Qualifications:
- Approximately 2 years of labor and employment litigation experience
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills
- Experience with discovery and motion practice
- Top academic credentials
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to and good standing with the Texas Bar (required)
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required
