Key Role in Fast Growth Firm, Commercial and Insurance Litigation:
We are a fast-growing law firm founded by a forward-thinking entrepreneurial lawyer. Our primary mission is to protect our clients from insurance companies that refuse to live up to their promises and pay their policyholders when they need them the most.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of legal assistant experience, or should have prior experience in a law firm. Legal Secretarial experience is preferred, but candidates with experience as a file clerk, receptionist, or project assistant will also be considered.
The office uses PCs, Clio for Case Management, and Microsoft One Drive. The office is a paperless office. The ideal candidate will have used all of the above, or similar, on a daily basis for 3 months or more.

OverviewLegal Assistants perform substantive legal and administrative support work under the direction of one or more attorneys, paralegals, and office manager on-site in the office.
Legal Assistant Responsibilities Administrative- Receives and logs mail, deliveries, and packages;
- Schedule couriers and routes all mail and deliveries to the proper person.
- Dates, scans, and saves all mail to the proper files per firm procedures.
- Assists other staff and performs general office tasks as requested.
- Make copies/scans documents
- Interacts with clients and builds relationships with them by phone, email, and in person
- Schedules and calendars client calls and meetings
- E-filing and e-serving documents
- Prepares and sends legal correspondence as directed by attorneys and paralegals (puts documents keyboarded initially by attorneys into final form, ready to be delivered to courts, clients, and co-counsel and opposing counsel)
- Drafts non-legal correspondence; communication with the firm's bankers, suppliers, landlords, vendors, and others
- Organizes the attorneys' files; assures that the attorney has all the relevant materials ready when the attorney has meetings or leaves the office for court or outside meetings.
- Ensures Lead Tracking Spreadsheet is updated with updating the Firm's databases, reports, or spreadsheets to track incoming calls, leads qualified, consultations scheduled, referral sources, and other key metrics; ensures weekly updates and reports to the Owner
- Updates case management system with bills issues, payments made, and A/R to collect; ensures weekly updates and reports to the Owner
- Sets up and manages new client and firm files
- Make copies/scans documents
- Assist with Policies and Procedures
The candidate should have a high school diploma, but advanced training at a college or university is preferred.
