Legal Counsel
We are currently recruiting a Commercial Solicitor for a highly reputable and long-established Irish financial services organisation. This opportunity offers broad exposure across commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, corporate advisory and strategic legal support within a regulated insurance environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, supporting commercial operations, regulatory initiatives and key strategic projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded solicitor seeking a move in-house within a stable, well-respected and purpose-driven organisation.
What You Will Do:Commercial & Corporate
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including vendor agreements, service-level agreements and NDAs
- Advise on legal and regulatory implications of contracting activity, including outsourcing, DORA, GDPR and technology service arrangements
- Manage and monitor vendor contracts to ensure regulatory compliance and service standards
- Develop and maintain contract precedents and legal knowledge resources
- Enhance internal legal processes and contracting policies
- Provide legal due diligence support on procurement and vendor risk management
- Lead and respond to regulatory initiatives impacting the organisation
- Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice across the business
- Support management of the legal risk register, identifying and mitigating legal risk
- Conduct legal reviews of policies, tender documentation, enterprise risk materials and marketing content
- Lead horizon scanning on legislative and EU regulatory developments impacting insurance and financial services
- Advise on Freedom of Information matters
- Deliver internal legal training across governance and compliance frameworks
- Support product development and internal insurance policy reviews
- Advise on statutory and regulatory developments and assess impact on business practices
- Work closely with risk, compliance and data protection teams
- Contribute to strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Promote best practice and continuous improvement across legal processes
- A qualified Solicitor in Ireland (3-6 PQE)
- Experience gained in an insurance company, financial services organisation, or a strong regulated practice background
- Strong knowledge of commercial, corporate and contract law
- Experienced in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Comfortable advising senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making
- Commercially astute, solutions-focused and strategically minded
- Able to balance legal risk with business priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised and capable of managing competing priorities
- Professional, accountable and capable of working independently in a hybrid environment
