Insurance Defense Associate Attorney (2–5 Years) – Houston, TX (HYBRID @ $60-70/hour)

Consilio/LOD is partnering with a well‑established Houston‑based law firm seeking a full‑time Insurance Defense Litigator. Candidates must be licensed in Texas and located in the Houston metro area.

This is a long‑term, indefinite contract opportunity with significant potential to convert into a permanent associate position. The firm has recently opened a new associate seat and is strategically engaging a contractor first, creating a unique opportunity to step into an active role, gain meaningful firm exposure, and demonstrate long‑term fit within the organization.

• Handle insurance defense matters including auto accidents and slip and falls
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend hearings in the Houston area
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and reports
• Manage an active caseload

• 2–5 years of litigation experience
• Courtroom experience required
• Strong drafting and case management skills
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity (must attend local hearings and depositions)

This role is limited to 40 hours per week during the contract portion of the assignment. It offers valuable firm training, networking, and hands‑on experience without exceeding a standard full‑time schedule.

Pay Rate: $60–$65 per hour (annualized $120K–$130K)
