The Work You Will Do:

The Senior Attorney in this position acts as an arbitrator for the Florida Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This is a highly responsible position that reports directly to the Chief Arbitrator.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Duties include, but may not be limited to:

* Arbitrating various condominium, cooperative and homeowners association disputes;

* Researches/drafts/reviews/amends pleadings, complaints, motions, dismissal orders, consent orders, settlement agreements and memoranda of law;

* Coordinates with Chief Arbitrator and peers to ensure uniformity in decision making;

* Responds to consumer and industry inquiries.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Skill in drafting legal documents;

* Skill in managing multiple complex cases;

* Ability to manage moderately high caseloads;

* Ability to prioritize work;

* Ability to work independently and in a team environment;

* Ability to communicate effectively;

* Ability to conduct extensive legal research;

* Ability to make oral presentations in court and in large groups;

* Ability to recognize and act on emerging issues and shifting priorities;

* Ability to travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Must have a valid driver's license; and

* Must be a member of The Florida Bar; and

* Must have a minimum of two years experience in the practice of law, legal research, legal writing, teaching law or in administrative or judicial proceedings.

Preference will be given to those who have knowledge of Chapter 718, 719 and 720, Florida Statutes, and/or are familiar with arbitration and mediation techniques and procedures.
