SummaryThe North American Demand and Inventory Planner will coordinate with sales locations to consolidate demand and sales forecasts to identify capacity constraints and conflicts to initiate strategic asset planning activities. The DIP will also be responsible for identifying opportunities to resolve local capacity constraints across manufacturing capabilities based on cost and service level requirements. They will also monitor and package reports on regional inventory development, as well as work with local management in developing inventory strategies and coordinating Regional transfers.
Responsibilities- Force continuous improvements in the area of demand planning within the Region
- Monitor current month order pattern and check against plan (plan vs. order)
- Initiate corrective actions in agreement with BL's goals
- Monitor stock and service level for assigned product groups in California, Texas, and backup for Canada
- Coordinate MRP and RCCP, resolve as many conflicts as possible in advance of S&OP meeting, communicate to BLs
- Facilitate S&OP meeting and record decisions
- Follow-up decisions made in S&OP meeting and ensure correct actions are met
- Ensure an on-going optimization of inventory levels in balance with required service levels
- Manage material availability, shortages, and overstocks and give clear directions to OF or MP
- Monitor inventory development and create alerts against targets if anomalies are observed
- Elaborate inventory issues mitigation proposals based on alerts and communicate to BL, SCM, Prod.
- Participate/lead supply chain projects
- Develop and implement strong standard operating procedures
- Eliminate any manual process kept outside of Oracle ERP by automating the process through Oracle ERP system
- Identify cost reduction opportunities in the supply chain domain and work towards driving the cost down
- Analyze sales forecast, past sales trend and recommend optimum inventory to meet customer demand
- Monitor and review performance of third-party service providers like warehouse operators and logistics providers
- Provide necessary training to the warehouse operating team to ensure timely and accurate operation
- Assist in sourcing & purchasing quality Raw Materials, Packing Materials and Services at competitive rates
- Implement, track, and adapt to agreed KPI’s to drive supply chain performance
- Prepare weekly and monthly management reports to demonstrate department performance against the set KPIS’s
- Support and assist in implementing and maintaining certified management systems such as ISO 9001, including training and risk awareness
- Support and assist in implementing and maintaining the RCMS program, reflecting HSSE policy and guiding principles
- Other projects as required
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or Engineering preferred
- Minimum 10 years’ experience analyzing and/or managing inventories and capacities
- Must have experience within an organization that is operations/manufacturing based
- Experience coordinating and consolidating sales forecasts and balancing against capacities
This position requires working in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels, primarily sitting at a computer workstation. Employees will need to be able to lift light objects, have clear vision for computer work, and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
