What you'll do

As a Buyer
, you will support procurement and sourcing efforts for Giga Data Center projects across the country. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role will help coordinate subcontractors, purchase materials, and support vendor relationships to ensure projects stay on schedule.

You will assist with sourcing trade partners, managing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and tracking procurement schedules for critical infrastructure projects. This role is highly execution-focused and ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and excited to grow within a fast-paced infrastructure environment.

You’ll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Construction, Logistics, and Operations teams to help ensure materials and subcontractors are aligned with project timelines and field requirements.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, coordinating moving pieces, and building strong vendor relationships while supporting large‑scale infrastructure deployments.

Where you'll work

This role will begin based in Houston or San Francisco. You must be willing to work on site full-time. Employees will be able to work remotely every other Friday.

Responsibilities Procurement & Purchasing Support
  • Support procurement schedules for Data Center projects, helping ensure materials and subcontractors are secured ahead of construction milestones
  • Source subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors across electrical, mechanical, civil, and general construction scopes
  • Assist with RFQs/RFPs, bid comparisons, and vendor selection processes
  • Create and track purchase orders, subcontract documentation, and procurement logs
  • Support budget tracking and procurement reporting alongside the Procurement Manager and Project Controls teams
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
  • Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers across project regions
  • Coordinate onboarding documentation, insurance compliance, and contract execution for vendors
  • Follow up with vendors on pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Help resolve supply chain or vendor issues to keep projects moving
Logistics & Material Coordination
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and material availability with field teams and vendors
  • Track shipments and monitor delivery timelines for critical equipment and materials
  • Work with internal logistics teams and external freight providers to support on‑time deliveries
  • Escalate procurement risks or schedule concerns proactively
Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Construction teams to understand project requirements
  • Coordinate with Operations and Deployment teams to support execution schedules
  • Maintain organized procurement documentation and status reporting across multiple active projects
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or construction operations
  • Experience supporting subcontractor sourcing or material purchasing for construction, infrastructure, industrial, or technical projects
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment
  • Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through and problem‑solving skills
  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally with internal teams and external vendors
Bonus points
  • Background in construction, data centers, energy systems, industrial infrastructure, or related industries
  • Familiarity with construction materials, electrical equipment, or vendor coordination
  • Experience supporting fast‑track or mission‑critical projects
  • Exposure to subcontract management or construction procurement processes
  • Exposure to AI / compute infrastructure is a plus
