Position SummaryGray Wolf Modular is seeking a Director of Supply Chain Management to own the full supply chain for a fast‑scaling modular data center manufacturer. This role will manage $250M–$300M in annual spend, lead a small team positioned for rapid growth, and operate in an environment where downtime carries real project consequences.
Core Responsibilities- Lead all supply chain functions including procurement, logistics, and warehouse operations to support large‑scale modular manufacturing and assembly.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy that optimizes material flow, supplier performance, and production readiness.
- Build and execute a commodity‑based sourcing strategy (raw materials, electrical gear, HVAC components, controls, fasteners, packaging) in partnership with the VP of Purchasing.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, AVL maintenance, and performance scorecards.
- Manage logistics operations including inbound and outbound freight, carrier relationships, and transportation efficiency across multiple project sites.
- Direct warehouse operations to maintain accurate inventory, efficient material handling, and just‑in‑time delivery to production lines.
- Support MRP implementation, with direct ownership of the supply‑chain configuration layer.
- Translate the master production schedule into purchase plans, work orders, and kitting plans.
- Manage long‑lead buys and protect schedule integrity.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for on‑time delivery, inventory accuracy, supplier quality, and cost efficiency; lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams to synchronize material needs with production timelines.
- Develop and mentor a high‑performing team of supply chain professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration, and career development.
- Drive strategic sourcing, long‑lead equipment planning, and risk mitigation strategies to support rapid deployment and scalability of modular data center projects.
- Maintain a high‑level understanding of General Ledger (GL), GAAP principles, and job‑specific cost/project accounting to ensure financial accountability across supply‑chain operations.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply‑chain leadership roles within manufacturing, modular construction, or industrial infrastructure sectors; 5+ years of supply‑chain leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of $200M+ in annual spend with measurable cost savings.
- Experience scaling a supply‑chain team in a growth‑stage or expanding manufacturing environment.
- Advanced manufacturing background – modular construction, industrial infrastructure, or custom capital equipment preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, strategic planning, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage supplier scorecards, SLA tracking, and AVL maintenance.
- Ability to apply data‑driven metrics to inventory accuracy, on‑time delivery, and cost performance.
- Preferred
- Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma are highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Work is generally performed in a climate‑controlled office area. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time throughout an 8‑10 hour day.
