BW Industrial Construction is seeking an experienced Purchaser to support procurement activities for industrial construction projects, with a strong emphasis on mechanical, electrical, HVAC and other MEP‑related scopes. The role sources materials, tools, equipment and subcontracted services, ensures timely delivery, maintains vendor relationships and supports project teams with accurate and efficient purchasing operations. This position is full‑time (Hybrid; 2‑3 days in office per week).
Key Responsibilities- Source and purchase materials, tools, equipment, and subcontracted services for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other MEP scopes.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor quotes; negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate purchase orders, vendor records, and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate material needs with Project Managers and Superintendents to meet schedule and budget requirements.
- Track deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and support timely jobsite material flow.
- Monitor pricing trends, supplier performance, and cost‑control opportunities.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, specifications, and project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
- Collaborate with Accounting to reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.
- Assist with inventory tracking, warehouse coordination, and periodic procurement audits.
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in industrial or heavy construction, especially supporting MEP work (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, piping, and related systems).
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, MEP components, and vendor networks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing/ERP systems (Quick Books Online preferred).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (a plus, not required).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- Experience supporting industrial construction projects across multiple sites or coordinating vendor logistics.
- Familiarity with cost tracking and project‑based purchasing workflows.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain long‑term vendor relationships.
- Office‑based role located in Houston, TX.
- Fast‑paced industrial construction environment with frequent coordination across project teams.
- Occasional vendor or jobsite visits may be required.
