Customs Entry Writer

Customs Entry Writer Salary – $50k to $58k – depending on experience. Excellent company benefits: 401(k), dental insurance, health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance. Must have one plus years' current experience of Customs Entries working in the freight forwarding industry. Must have a valid visa to work in the USA. Sorry, visa/sponsorship is not available.

The client is a global leader in logistics and supply chain management, excelling in providing comprehensive freight forwarding solutions across international borders. With a robust network of partners and cutting‑edge technology, they ensure seamless, efficient, and cost‑effective transportation of goods worldwide. The successful candidate in this position will possess key skills and experience which include knowledge of international import transportation, import brokerage procedures, U.S. Customs and Border Protection ("Customs"), and Participating Government Agency ("PGA") requirements including the clearance process, classification and valuation.

This position requires excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task along with the knowledge to produce accurate workflow in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure freight forwarding operations environment, while positively contributing to the success of the team. This role primarily requires the individual to manage accounts from A to Z, prepare all documentation necessary to clear merchandise through Customs and any applicable PGA, provide excellent, thorough, and prompt customer service and perform any tasks assigned by the Manager, Supervisor, or Team Lead that meets the needs of the team and department.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing Arrival Notices
  • Opening files – file set‑up, inputting data information obtained from agents and freight forwarders
  • Filing Customs entries for clearance
  • Working with Customs and other government agencies to obtain release
  • Customer service and billing of files
  • ISF filing (import security filing)
  • Bill of lading processing
  • Customs entry filing to the PGA (Partner Government Agency) and compliance with government guidelines to release the cargo
  • Working with CBP, addressing quarantine issues, dealing with fees and duty taxes
  • Preparing commercial packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and liaising with PGA guidelines to clear goods
  • Signing documents on behalf of clients, using power of attorney
Qualifications
  • At least one plus years of current experience in Customs Entries within the freight forwarding industry
  • Valid visa to work in the USA (no visa/sponsorship available)
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs, CBP, and PGA regulations and processes
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to produce accurate workflow in a fast‑paced environment
