Position: Junior Buyer (IT, Software & Indirect Procurement)

Job Details

Viridien is seeking a Junior Buyer to support the execution of day‑to‑day procurement activities across IT equipment, software, and indirect spend categories, while providing secondary support to HPC procurement activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career procurement professional looking to develop expertise in enterprise software procurement, vendor management, and indirect sourcing within a global technology environment.

The Junior Buyer will be responsible for processing purchase requests, coordinating with suppliers, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Working closely with the Software Category Manager and Lead Buyer – HPC/IT Hardware, this role will provide exposure to enterprise software procurement, IT equipment sourcing, and indirect spend management, while developing a foundational understanding of HPC infrastructure procurement.

Key Responsibilities IT, Software & Indirect Procurement
  • Support procurement activities for IT equipment, software licenses and subscriptions, and indirect categories including services, consulting, facilities, and consumables.
  • Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in accordance with established workflows and approval requirements.
  • Validate purchase requests to ensure pricing, supplier information, specifications, and software renewal references are accurate and aligned with existing contracts where applicable.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, service start dates, and basic commercial and licensing terms.
  • Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery or activation of goods and services.
  • Support software renewal tracking to ensure continuity of service and prevent lapses.
  • Maintain procurement records including quotations, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with invoice resolution and support procurement audit and SOX compliance activities.
HPC Procurement Support
  • Provide transactional and administrative support to the Lead Buyer – HPC/IT Hardware.
  • Assist with purchase order processing and order tracking for servers, GPUs, networking, and storage equipment.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and provide status updates.
  • Support the team during periods of high volume or coverage requirements.
General Responsibilities
  • Monitor open orders and proactively identify and address delays or risks.
  • Communicate order status updates clearly and professionally to stakeholders across IT, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain procurement trackers and ensure ERP and system data accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval workflows, documentation standards, and SOX requirements.
  • Collaborate with Buyers, Category Managers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to support efficient procurement operations.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Zero to three years of experience in procurement, supply chain, finance operations, or a related business function.

    Basic understanding of procure‑to‑pay processes and purchase order workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within structured processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
Preferred
  • One to two years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations.
  • Exposure to IT procurement, software purchasing, or indirect spend categories.
  • Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems such as SAP, Coupa, or Oracle.
  • Interest in software licensing, vendor management, and procurement best practices.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
