Summary: The Strategic Sourcing Specialist supports the development and execution of category strategies for assigned spend areas, focusing on cost efficiency, supplier performance, and operational support. This role works closely with Strategic Sourcing Managers and cross-functional teams to analyze spend, support sourcing initiatives, and ensure supply continuity across manufacturing operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesCategory Support & Analysis
- Assist in developing category strategies aligned with procurement and manufacturing objectives
- Conduct spend analysis and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support demand planning and data-driven decision-making
Sourcing & Procurement Execution
- Support sourcing activities including RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, and bid evaluations
- Assist in preparing negotiation materials and participate in supplier discussions
- Help execute contracts and maintain procurement documentation
Supplier Coordination
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and track performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost)
- Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and compliance processes
- Assist in resolving supply or delivery issues in coordination with operations
Cost & Performance Tracking
- Track savings initiatives and procurement KPIs
- Maintain accurate data in procurement systems and dashboards
- Support reporting for category performance and supplier scorecards
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operations, finance, engineering, and quality teams to support production needs
- Assist in project-based sourcing activities
- Ensure alignment with plant requirements and procurement policies
- Occasional interaction with suppliers and plant sites
- Travel required (15%-20%) for supplier engagement and site visits
- Support in achieving cost savings targets
- Data accuracy and reporting quality
- Supplier performance tracking (on-time delivery, quality)
- Timely execution of sourcing activities
- Compliance with procurement processes

- Occasional interaction with suppliers and plant sites

- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis

- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and grow in category management
- Experience with ERP systems
- Familiarity with procurement tools
- Knowledge of basic cost analysis or financial principles
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations (internships included)
- Exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
