Operations Coordinator
Location:
Houston, TX – PMT (RDA) – Welding equipment rental
Under the direction of the PMT Manager, the Operations Coordinator will safely manage branch logistics, including shipping, receiving, parts, and equipment inventory. This position coordinates rental tasks, manages parts rooms, stages equipment for technicians, and evaluates inbound equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Actively collaborate to coordinate shipping methods and arrangements; prepare bills of lading and other shipping documents.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods from trucks and other conveyances.
- Review and verify incoming goods against invoices or packing slips, record shortages and damaged goods.
- Review returned equipment and assign units to appropriate repair status and storage location.
- Support customer rental orders, perform order entry, review freight details, and verify outbound shipments for accuracy.
- Sustain accurate parts and accessory (ACCY) inventory levels, perform procurement, consumption, and scrap recommendations, ensuring compliance with 6S segregation standards.
- Partner with technicians to prepare work, facilitate equipment movement in and out of tech bays, and provide support for equipment requests and inquiries.
- Assemble containers and crates, pack goods for shipment, affix identifying information and shipping instructions.
- Assist with administrative duties of the facility and support the PMT Manager in the manager’s absence.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the rental, retail, or related industry.
- Experience with UPS software, Bill of Ladings, LTL carriers, and expediting shipments.
- Forklift operation, rigging, and securing loads experience.
- Equipment repair and maintenance training is a benefit.
- Strong communication skills, decision‑making capability, and problem‑solving proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- Experience in an industrial/rental environment and knowledge of positioning equipment or welding applications is an advantage.
