The MRO Analyst will support inventory optimization, SAP master data governance, and material planning initiatives focused on improving inventory accuracy, reducing excess and obsolete materials, and enhancing ERP/MRP data quality. This role is responsible for analyzing MRO and MRP inventory, maintaining accurate SAP material master data, supporting Bill of Materials updates, and improving inventory planning reliability.
This position reports to the Director of Procurement and works cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Master Data teams.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive reviews of MRO and MRP inventory to identify obsolete, excess, duplicate, inactive, and slow-moving materials
- Analyze usage history, demand trends, stock levels, and material movement to recommend inventory optimization, standardization, and disposition strategies
- Support inventory reduction targets through data analysis, reporting, cleanup activities, and cross-functional action plans
- Create, maintain, and validate SAP material master records, including part numbers, descriptions, classifications, units of measure, planning parameters, and related data
- Improve material master data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards
- Support Bill of Materials creation, updates, and validation within SAP to improve BOM accuracy and MRP planning reliability
- Support SAP processes related to MM, MRP, material master, BOMs, inventory management, purchasing, and plant maintenance
- Perform data cleansing, validation, governance, and continuous monitoring activities to improve ERP/MRP system data integrity
- Reduce duplicate, obsolete, and inaccurate materials through analysis, standardization, and collaboration with key stakeholders
- Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Master Data teams to resolve inventory discrepancies and improve material planning effectiveness
- Support cycle count reconciliation, inventory audits, and inventory accuracy improvement initiatives
- Develop reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to track inventory reduction, data quality, BOM accuracy, project progress, and process improvement results
- Use analytical and reporting tools, including Excel, Power BI, and Celonis, to identify trends, track progress, and support decision-making
- Develop, document, and support standardized master data processes, work instructions, and best practices
- Provide user support, troubleshooting, training, and change management assistance related to SAP master data, inventory processes, and system usage
- Participate in inventory cleanup, data migration, master data governance, and continuous improvement projects
- Recommend process improvements to prevent future inventory issues and enhance inventory management, purchasing, and planning effectiveness
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience in Industrial Distribution, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Procurement, Materials Management, or a related field.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP system.
- Experience with Power BI, Celonis, or similar reporting, analytics, or process mining tool.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data, identify trends, and recommend practical solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation, and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation, data validation, and organizational skill.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
- Strong communication, customer service, and cross-functional collaboration skill.
- SAP experience, particularly with SAP MM, MRP, material master, BOMs, inventory management, purchasing, and plant maintenance.
- Experience with Prophet.
- Knowledge of MRO inventory, MRP planning, BOM management, purchasing, warehouse operations, inventory control, or maintenance planning.
- Experience supporting inventory reduction, data cleanup, master data governance, or continuous improvement initiatives.
