Overview

Responsible for value propositioning and driving solutions & pricing related to complex project transportation moves, including Rail & Barge operations, as well as Ocean, Air and Domestic Transportation moves. Conducts analytics on project performance, freight spend and KPIs identified by the project. Administers the project lifecycle including KPI reporting, invoicing, and progress against contractual milestones.

Responsibilities
  • Create value propositions and drive solutions and pricing for complex project transportation moves (Rail & Barge, Ocean, Air and Domestic).
  • Analyze project performance, freight spend, and KPIs as identified by the project.
  • Administer the project, including KPI reporting, invoicing, and tracking progress against contractual milestones.
  • Track shipment progress in conjunction with the project logistics plan and keep relevant parties (e.g., customs broker, client, EPCM) informed.
  • Coordinate with identified project suppliers from EXW up to CFR and potentially up to DDP in certain cases.
  • Must have experience with H/L, ODC cargo handling; versed in HSEQ with an understanding of industrial project dynamics.
  • Collaborate with stations and clients to maintain a healthy relationship and provide continuous updates on project timelines.
  • Provide or explain shipment options in regularly scheduled project logistics updates and during exigencies to senior leadership as requested.
Administrative & Documentation
  • Shipment coordination (Air/Ocean & Road Transport).
  • Act as central control hub to coordinate activities from outlying offices, ensuring high quality and timely execution.
  • Document preparation (dock receipts, bills of lading, export declarations, among others).
  • Data maintenance and entry, and preparation of standard project reports and spreadsheets.
  • Timely and clear communication with client regarding freight disposition (tracking & tracing, routing options & rate quotations).
  • Communication and coordination with subcontracted partners for freight dispatch, routing & pricing.
  • Collection and organization of records, files and other information.
  • Handle specific operations invoicing.
Other Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of Incoterms and knowledge of Import/Export.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including fax, copier, PC, scanners, etc.
  • Proactive, able to handle pressure in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions related to project operations.
Physical Requirements
  • Attendance and presence at the work site is required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; light lifting may be required.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of Industrial Project/Project Management experience required.
  • 3 – 5 years of industry experience preferred.
