Job Details

This is a high‑impact, hands‑on role owning complex project logistics across heavy lift, heavy haul, barge, rail, and crane & rigging operations. You’ll have true end‑to‑end ownership—from RFQs and costing to routing, vendor negotiation, execution, and post‑project analysis. Your responsibilities include managing project logistics, budgeting, scheduling, planning, and risk management. You will be expected to lead supplier management & performance, including score carding, and develop strong relationships with partners such as Ocean carriers, Crane & Rigging, Heavy Haul, Barge Operators, and Rail Providers.

This role requires a candidate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation administration and operations, specifically in heavy haul, barge, rail, and/or crane & rigging industry.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate individual P&L accounting summary per shipment or project, ensuring preset reasonable goals are met.
  • Prepare and review supplier purchase orders for completeness.
  • Visit sites, ports, suppliers as needed to perform duties of meetings, surveys, etc. in preparation for project work.
  • Lead and monitor supplier management & performance, including score carding.
  • Develop and manage relationships with partners:
    Ocean Carriers, Crane & Rigging, Heavy Haul, Barge Operators, Rail Providers.
  • Take responsibility for project logistics costing, budget, scheduling, planning, and risk management.
  • Lead and support the development of RFPs or RFQs to TLGA supply base in support of new bid projects, analysis/evaluation of responses, and lead the negotiation process.
  • Generate cargo track & trace reports, and report out as required.
Qualifications
  • Must possess (or be able to obtain) a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Minimum 5 years’ transportation administration and operations experience.
  • Direct experience in heavy haul, barge, rail and/or crane & rigging industry.
  • Significant knowledge of heavy haul, over‑dimensional rail, barge and port operations.
  • Proven ability to manage project logistics, including costing, budgeting, scheduling, planning, and risk management.
  • Strong ability to lead and monitor supplier management & performance, including score carding.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills, with a proven track record of developing relationships with partners such as Ocean Carriers, Crane & Rigging, Heavy Haul, Barge Operators, and Rail Providers.
  • Experience in leading and supporting the development of RFPs or RFQs, analyzing and evaluating responses, and leading the negotiation process.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel 10‑15% per year.
