Position Overview:

The Logistics Account Manager is responsible for coordinating domestic and international logistics activities to ensure the timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished products. This role serves as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and logistics providers, ensuring exceptional service while maintaining operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong communication and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This individual will manage international orders, coordinate transportation and customs activities, monitor shipments from origin to delivery, and quickly resolve issues that could impact customer satisfaction or business operations.

Key Responsibilities Account Management
  • Serve as the primary logistics contact for assigned customers and internal business partners.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and other logistics partners.
  • Proactively communicate shipment status, estimated arrival times, potential delays, and resolution plans.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding deliveries, proof of delivery, shipment documentation, and transportation updates.
International & Domestic Logistics
  • Manage international orders and coordinate shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Work closely with vendors, freight forwarders, steamship lines, customs brokers, and transportation providers to facilitate efficient movement of goods.
  • Coordinate domestic transportation and final-mile deliveries as required.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Review and prepare shipping documentation and other regulatory documents when required.
Transportation & Supply Chain Coordination
  • Enter and maintain shipment information within the Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Monitor shipments throughout the transportation lifecycle and proactively address issues before they impact customers.
  • Select and assign transportation providers based on service, cost, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure approved carriers meet company safety, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Coordinate change orders, expedited shipments, cancellations, returns, and shipment diversions.
  • Validate freight charges, document accessorial costs, and communicate rate changes to the accounting team.
Inventory & Operational Excellence
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and inventory movement.
  • Ensure positive inventory control and timely load assignments.
  • Prepare performance reports and logistics metrics for management and customers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
  • Anticipate transportation challenges and implement effective solutions before they impact operations.
  • Analyze shipment data to support informed business decisions.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to support critical logistics operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business and customer needs.
  • Fast-paced, collaborative, and growth-oriented environment.
  • Office-based position with regular interaction across multiple departments.
  • Business casual dress code.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, international shipping, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies and implement process improvements.
