Summary
The Shipping Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of products from warehouse to customer or distribution centers. This role ensures shipments are scheduled efficiently, transportation costs are optimized, and delivery deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with company policies and shipping regulations. The Shipping Planner works closely with warehouse, production, customer service, and logistics providers to resolve shipping issues and ensure a smooth supply chain operation.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate daily outbound shipping activities, including export shipments, trailer scheduling, shipment consolidation, and loading coordination.
• Plan and optimize shipping capacity based on customer requirements, production schedules, order priorities, and transportation needs.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customers' logistics teams, and internal departments to support timely shipment execution and resolve operational issues.
• Monitor shipment status and maintain accurate records using SAP, SFC, and other reporting systems.
• Ensure all required shipping documentation is complete, accurate, and processed on time, including transfer orders, CMR documents, certificates of completion, loading records, and export documentation.
• Verify shipment details and complete timely Post Goods Issue (PGI) transactions in SAP.
• Prepare daily shipping plans and reports while communicating shipment schedules, loading status, delays, and changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance outbound efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications
• Ability to work in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive problem-solving with attention to detail.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for office equipment and technology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience managing multiple administrative functions in a fast-paced environment preferred.
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
