Remote with up to 20% domestic and international travel
At GE Vernova, the energy transition isn't a distant ambition — it's the work we do every day. As a Commodity Sourcing Leader on our mechanical equipment team, you'll help shape how we source critical components that power projects around the world. This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution — someone who can negotiate complex contracts in the morning and collaborate with engineering teams in the afternoon to solve a supplier challenge.
You'll be part of a global sourcing function that directly influences cost, quality, and delivery performance across GE Vernova's Gas Power business. If you want your work to have a measurable impact on how the world generates cleaner energy, this is your seat at the table.
What You'll Do- Develop and execute sourcing strategy for your assigned mechanical commodity in partnership with the global commodity leader, with a focus on variable cost productivity, cash flow, and financial controllership goals.
- Lead end-to-end supplier management, including selection, qualification, development, and the full contract lifecycle from Request for Proposal (RFP) to supplier exit.
- Negotiate contracts and drive cost reduction by identifying savings opportunities, executing commercial negotiations, and implementing sustainable cost controls — collaborating with Finance to validate impact on the general ledger.
- Build technical and market expertise in your commodity area, staying current on global supply market trends, regional capacity dynamics, and supplier capabilities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs), fulfillment, logistics, and project teams to ensure suppliers are selected on time and equipment meets project requirements.
- Optimize procurement processes and align with global sourcing initiatives to improve the overall experience for internal customers and drive continuous improvement.
You're a commercially minded sourcing professional who is equally comfortable building long-term supplier strategies and rolling up your sleeves to get a deal across the finish line. You bring market knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and a collaborative instinct that makes cross-functional teams better.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience in a sourcing, operations, or supply chain role
- Minimum 3yrs of commercial experience in sourcing, sales, operations, engineering, and/or supply chain
Preferred:
- Prior sourcing experience in the energy, power generation, or industrial manufacturing sector
- Strong data analysis capabilities with the ability to translate insights into sourcing decisions
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering results in a matrixed environment
- Strong experience working with logistics and commercial teams to manage regional capacity and localization requirements
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus in support of global supplier engagement
