Supply Chain Specialist, Buyer

• Plan purchase orders based on inventory levels and sales forecasts to maintain target weeks of stock
• Collaborate with sales and planning teams to keep demand forecasts accurate in JDE
• Maintain purchase order delivery dates and analyze MRP-generated messages
• Interface with suppliers, qualify new suppliers, negotiate prices and payment terms, and place purchase orders
• Work with internal customers to ensure product specifications and drawings are appropriate
• Provide documentation to logistics, transportation, and warehouse teams for accurate receipt recording
• Identify cost-reduction, efficiency-improvement, and risk-management opportunities through negotiations
• Assess supplier performance and conduct follow-up activities
• Collaborate with Production Development and Engineering on new product development and sourcing options
• Serve as the focal contact for commercial matters
• Evaluate and streamline purchasing processes

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred)
• 5 years’ experience in procurement and sourcing/logistics, including chemicals, containers, packaging goods, and/or finished product buyouts
• Experience in an ERP system; JDE preferred
• Strong PC skills, especially MS Office Suite, Excel, Teams, and MS Project
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Ability to handle last-minute priority changes and tight deadlines

Demonstrates expertise in procurement and sourcing, with a strong focus on inventory management, supplier negotiation, and process optimization. Proficient in utilizing ERP systems like JDE and advanced skills in MS Office Suite to enhance operational efficiency.
