As a Logistics Specialist, you will play a key role in keeping products moving efficiently across Motul's North American supply chain. Working closely with carriers, warehouses, suppliers, and internal teams, you will help ensure timely deliveries, import and export compliance, inventory accuracy, and exceptional service for our customers. This is a hands‑on, highly collaborative role for someone who enjoys solving operational challenges, leveraging data to drive decisions, and taking ownership to deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
WhatYou'll DoTender, Track, and Trace Freight
- Tender freight and coordinate pickups, delivery appointments, and shipment requirements with carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and 3PL partners.
- Track and trace domestic and international shipments from pickup through final delivery.
- Support transportation across parcel, LTL, full truckload, LCL, ocean, and other freight modes.
- Monitor shipment milestones and proactively follow up on delays, missed appointments, damages, shortages, and other incidents.
- Provide clear shipment status updates and take ownership of exceptions through resolution.
- Support freight movements related to imports from Global destinations.
- Create and review basic shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping bills, delivery of paperwork, and related shipment records.
- Collect, organize, and verify documents needed for domestic, import, and export shipments.
- Maintain accurate transportation and shipment information in SAP and related systems.
- Apply or quickly develop working knowledge of Incoterms and basic import and export compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams to support international shipments.
- Assist with shipment expediting and follow up on documentation or clearance issues that may delay delivery.
- Escalate compliance questions or shipment risks to the appropriate internal or external partner.
- Review freight information and supporting documents for accuracy.
- Assist with freight invoice review and follow up on billing discrepancies when needed.
- Maintain organized logistics records and shipment files.
- Identify recurring transportation issues and support practical process improvements.
- Help document standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Participate in cross‑functional meetings and provide concise updates on shipment priorities, risks, and actions.
- Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, or related field required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) is a plus, not a requirement.
- 3-5 years experience in transportation, freight coordination, logistics operations, shipping, or supply chain function.
- Hands‑on experience tendering, tracking, and tracing freight across one or more modes, such as parcel, LTL, truckload, LCL, or ocean.
- Experience coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses, suppliers, or 3PL partners.
- Working knowledge of bills of lading, shipping documents, freight terms, and shipment exception management.
