Senior Assistant Sales and Operations

Mitsubishi International Corporation’s Materials Solution Divisional Company (MSDC) is seeking a Senior Assistant Sales and Operations to support the Methanol Department’s business operations.

The Methanol Department continues to scale its business portfolio and geographic footprint across four core segments: (1) Methanol distribution in North America and LATAM export destinations, (2) Methanol trading and market positioning, (3) Ocean vessel operations, and (4) Project development and incubation. The Department leverages product off-take from Joint Ventures in Venezuela and Trinidad & Tobago, in addition to locally and internationally sourced product.

From strategically located storage facilities across the U.S. Gulf, East Coast, and Midwest, the Department oversees a robust logistics and commercial operation to meet both inland and export sales commitments.

The Senior Assistant, Sales and Operations supports day-to-day truck and rail operations and assists with coordinating logistics activities for the department. Working closely with department management and team members, the position helps facilitate the efficient movement of product, maintains operational records, and supports logistics activities related to existing and prospective business. The position also assists with customer service, inventory tracking, and operational processes to support departmental objectives.

• Support day-to-day truck and rail logistics activities by maintaining operational records related to shipments, as directed.
• Compile data and supporting information for logistics evaluations and operational planning activities, as directed.
• Maintain inventory records and assist with inventory tracking activities, as directed.
• Collect and compile operational, customer, and market information for management review.
• Prepare and process customer invoicing documentation and assist with collection follow-up activities as directed.
• Support inventory administration activities and maintain related storage documentation and records.
• Compile, prepare, and maintain supporting import/export documentation for regulatory compliance filings prepared by others, in accordance with established procedures.

• Provide responsive and professional customer service by addressing routine inquiries in a timely manner.
• Receive, record, and process customer orders and inquiries via telephone, email, and other communication channels.
• Process related documentation and coordinate shipment activities in accordance with established procedures.
• Provide pricing, availability, and scheduling information as directed.
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide information regarding available products and services in accordance with established guidelines.
• Check and monitor credit within established guidelines and confirm orders.
• Log and route customer issues to the appropriate team member or supervisor in a timely manner.
• Relay routine customer messages to sales staff to support timely follow-up.
• Assist with rail fleet coordination activities by maintaining and updating operational information as directed.

• Maintain records and assist with operational follow-up activities.
• Compile operational data and prepare recurring reports, summaries, and supporting documentation for management review.
• Maintain shipment and vessel information and assist with related operational tracking activities.
• Assist with East Coast inventory transfer and exchange activities by compiling vessel and pipeline transfer information as directed and maintaining related operational records.
