JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision supervises and participates in skilled maintenance and repair of the HVAC System. Maintains records of parts and materials. Evaluates and trains subordinate personnel, review and maintain employee time records, inspects work in progress, and upon completion.

Summary:
- Supervises HVAC Personnel on installation, repair, monitoring, maintenance, and planning of HVAC/refrigeration systems.
- Responsible for coordinating all HVAC, Plumbing, and Building Automation work with outside Contractors. Request, review, and process all quotes and invoicing.
- Maintains Center Plant which consist of Chillers, Boilers, and Cooling Towers.
- Reviews all work orders before and after completion.
- Receives oral or written requests and set priorities.
- Interfaces with contractors to understand, convey and interpret information documents, standards, codes or best practice and provide quality assurance for larger jobs as owner representatives. Maintain knowledge of required adherence to recognize standards and codes.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:$64,197.37 - $81,851.64
Education:Some college or Associate’s degree and/or vocational or technical school and/or specialized training or certification preferred.
Required Licensing/Certification:Registered AC & Refrigeration Technician License
Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred
Knowledge of:
- Best practices in commercial HVAC technology for maintenance and application of buildings and equipment.
- Ability to comprehend and explain University policies, procedures, and practices as they relate to commercial construction.
- Acts as the ultimate subject matter expert in a professional discipline or function; understood to be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on complex methods and procedures. Requires the ability to lead the development or modification of work procedures in the discipline or function for virtually any situation.
- Interpret and apply Safety guidelines to daily work.
- Demonstrates full/complete knowledge in an area. Requires command of technical and functional procedures, processes and subject matter in a job family or professional discipline to handle most situations and lead and/or review the work of others in multiple job classifications performing diverse responsibilities.
- Microsoft Office Professional, TMA (Work Request system) or similar applications.
- Conduct inventory and surveillance of required materials and supplies for crafts
- Problem-solving and decision-making.

- Coordinate work of others.
- Verbal and written communication.
- Respond to unplanned events (emergency situations) during and after standard hours to accommodate the needs of the university.

Eight (8) to ten (10) years of related experience.
Working/Environmental Conditions:
- Prolonged standing and/or walking.
