Brae Burn Country Club is developing a full campus Master Plan, including all facilities. The current focus is the Clubhouse. In addition to improving the Club’s facilities and infrastructure, there’s renewed focus on the Member and guest experience and a service‑mindful culture among the team in all facets of operation.
Position OverviewThe Facilities Manager will deliver the best possible presentation of the facilities to Members and guests. He or she will have one full‑time assistant with 7 years of tenure and will succeed a beloved 40‑year Facilities Leader. The Facility Manager will oversee day‑to‑day operations of all facilities, direct service calls, repairs, alterations and installs, troubleshoot malfunctions, and respond to service calls outside of regular hours when necessary.
Responsibilities- Oversee facility functionality: HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and hospitality equipment.
- Maintain preventative maintenance of all Club facilities and equipment (except Golf Course equipment).
- Foster a culture of collaboration to provide an exceptional Member and guest experience.
- Recruit, train, supervise and terminate one department assistant.
- Develop well‑rounded SOPs for facility maintenance.
- Prioritize work orders and manage vendor relations.
- Work with Management on fixed assets, depreciation and capital replacement plans.
- Work with the Clubhouse Manager to prepare the annual building‑maintenance budget, including capital expenditures.
- Maintain and update the five‑year preventative maintenance and capital improvement plans for all buildings.
- Administer and direct all major and minor repairs and improvements.
- Act as project manager by procuring bids and contracts for all improvements.
- Coordinate in‑house retrofit and cosmetic improvement programs as directed.
- Supervise purchasing of goods and materials; initiate purchase orders for physical‑plant supplies, machinery, equipment, parts and services.
- Maintain and monitor all Club systems (fire, phone, data, lighting, IT, HVAC, electrical, cable and TV).
- Conduct daily walk‑abouts and inspections with department managers as appropriate.
- Conduct weekly walk‑abouts with the Clubhouse Manager.
- Collaborate with the Clubhouse Manager in preparing required city and county safety, health and fire reports and renew permits and licenses.
- Coach and mentor employees; support development; counsel performance; conduct annual performance reviews.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment with emphasis on employee health and safety.
- Assist in training colleagues in safety techniques.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
- Two‑year degree in a related field; continuing education in Mechanical Engineering, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or related field preferred.
- 4–6 years progressive experience as an Engineer, Facilities Maintenance Professional or related position preferred.
- Supervisory experience required, preferably 3–5 years.
- Hospitality or private‑club experience preferred.
- Professional experience in project management and contract negotiation preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and facility‑maintenance software programs preferred.
- Bi‑lingual preferred.
- Professional experience in site planning, layout, grading and stormwater management a plus.
- Operate in a fast‑paced, systematic manner with attention to detail.
- Mechanically inclined with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical and refrigeration systems; hands‑on repair capability.
- Organizational ability to coordinate Club projects and renovations; understand energy management and related systems.
- Manage multi‑discipline projects and utilize technical support staff.
- Develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in safety practices.
- Perform required role during emergency situations.
Special Requirements
- HVAC, Electrical and Swimming Pool Certification preferred.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
