Dc Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

Responsible for the success of assigned functions within a complex distribution center environment; works with the Maintenance Manager (MM) to develop strategies and objectives for maximizing productivity and leveraging expenses; manages and oversees the maintenance of equipment and facility; analyzes trends and solves problems to maximize contribution to the DC's success; typically manages a team of direct reports to achieve these results.

• Coaches, trains, and develops associates through informal on-floor coaching and formal feedback (e.g., written evaluations); ensures technical certifications are achieved and sustained; maintains a union-free work environment by fostering an employee-centered workplace that demonstrates care and concern for all associates.
• Ensures culture of safety by following Home Depot safety policies and procedures; monitors DC safety, physical security and inspects equipment and facilities for compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Manages and oversees facility maintenance including repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment to ensure continuous operations; sources and reviews contractor bids for repairs; responsible for contractor selection and ensuring contractors are compliant with standards (safety, schedule, budget, quality).
• Reviews maintenance, production and quality control reports to plan and modify maintenance activities; recommends and implements cost-effective changes to facility and equipment that comply with safety standards.

• Reports to the Maintenance Manager
• Has 7 direct reports

• Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

• Requires intermittent periods of physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

• Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Degree concentrating in Facilities Management
• Previous change management experience (driving, influencing and inspiring change through communication)

• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of an associate's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
