Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all company vehicles.
Responsibilities- Evaluate vendor performance and authorize maintenance and repair services in alignment with company standards.
- Develop and maintain fleet records, compliance documentation, and reporting systems.
- Analyze vehicle performance data to recommend replacement schedules, budget priorities, and cost-reduction strategies.
- Serve as the primary liaison with insurance providers for all accident claims and repairs.
- Review and approve repair estimates, ensuring cost-effective and timely resolution.
- Conduct post-incident evaluations and recommend process improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Implement and enforce company safety policies across field operations and the warehouse.
- Coordinate and document safety training for employees, including vehicle use, accident prevention, and OSHA compliance.
- Conduct safety audits and recommend corrective actions or policy adjustments as necessary.
- Assign and oversee work completed by apprentices or field technicians assisting with vehicle cleanouts, inspections, and maintenance tasks.
- Provide training and guidance on proper safety and maintenance protocols.
- Review vendor contracts to ensure compliance with insurance regulations.
- Develop and update fleet and safety standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Track and report safety metrics, accident trends, and vehicle downtime to management.
- Exercise independent judgment in selecting vendors, approving repairs, and managing insurance claims.
- Develop and implement procedures that affect company compliance, fleet readiness, and safety standards.
- Make recommendations to management on cost controls, vehicle replacement, and operational improvements.
- 3+ years of experience in fleet management and safety compliance (HVAC, electrical, or similar trade preferred).
- Knowledge of OSHA and insurance claim processes.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to make decisions under limited supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Primarily office-based. Must be available for occasional after-hours or emergency response related to fleet incidents.
