The MISS program is a comprehensive initiative aimed at supporting the US Department of State’s operations in Iraq. In addition to providing ongoing base operations and Life Support Services, K  will provide differentiated advisory and consultancy capabilities to the Iraqi Government with a focus on creating an effective program environment to support delivery of strategic economic planning, strategy development, feasibility studies, technical reviews and large‑scale project management.

Under this contract K  will provide facility maintenance, procurement, critical supply functions, along with food service, base camp operations, renovations, construction, and medical services.

Job Summary

The Task Order Fire Services Manager will be based on site in Iraq in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for utilizing resources to accomplish operational requirements and will plan, develop, and implement department policy. Direct and coordinate department operations, review and develop departmental training, and coordinate departmental budget. The Task Order Fire Services Manager will.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Develop, maintain, produces emergency operations plans for the department, maintains contact with local community agencies.
  • Plans and directs operations during training and emergencies, and plans, develops and implements an overall company long‑term strategic plan involving fire protection.
  • Formulates mission plans involving fire protection.
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.
  • Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
  • Supervise assigned Fire and Emergency Service personnel during both emergency and non‑emergency situations, ensuring operational readiness of assigned personnel and equipment.
  • Lead assigned personnel during activities such as: training, work details, crew‑level administration, fire prevention, public education and communications.
  • May assume roles and responsibilities of the Assistant Site Chief during periods of absence, if qualified.
  • Serve as a structural and airport firefighter, and HAZMAT responder on a scheduled rotation.
  • Participate in Fire and Emergency Services activities including: fire suppression, EMS, rescue, public assistance, fire investigation, fire prevention, pre‑fire planning, Fire Company training, public education, clinical training and routine maintenance of apparatus, equipment and facilities.
  • Support Emergency Management functions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Typically requires 15 years experience in fire service, and other related experience is essential.
  • Previous international experience in challenging locations, preferably working in the Middle East, with a working knowledge of customs and cultural differences.
  • Must currently hold and maintain certification as First Responders and CPR professional for medical emergencies throughout employment.
  • US Citizen
  • US Passport with minimum one plus year validity remaining.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
  • Must currently possess a USG issued Secret security clearance and/or a favorable USG Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification prior to being hired is required for the position.
  • Must maintain eligibility at the required clearance or certification level for the duration of the task order.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous international experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions.
  • Experience working withing Government Contracts.
  • Must have effective communication skills (written/verbal) with exceptional problem resolution abilities.
