The Director of Sales is responsible for overall revenue performance, sales execution, and margin protection across multiple branch locations through the leadership of Sales Managers. This role oversees a platform-wide sales organization supporting multiple branches ranging from $10 million to $50 million+ in annual revenue, with indirect responsibility for Comfort Advisors, sales-focused technicians, and inside-sales/rehash personnel
.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Multi-Branch Sales Leadership
  • Lead the sales function across multiple branch locations through both direct and indirect management of Sales Managers.
  • Set clear expectations and performance standards for Sales Managers, ensuring alignment across branches while allowing for local operational nuance.
  • Serve as the senior sales authority for the organization, providing strategic direction, escalation support, and leadership presence.
  • Conduct regular branch visits to review performance, observe execution, and coach Sales Managers in the field.
  • Build a unified sales culture centered on urgency, professionalism, accountability, and customer-focused selling.
  • Hold Sales Managers accountable for:
    Call-by-call management execution, Lead coverage and response discipline, Coaching cadence and quality, Individual and branch-level performance outcome.
  • Ensure Sales Managers consistently enforce standardized sales processes, including:
    Option-based selling (good/better/best), Membership and accessory offerings, Financing utilization, Cross-trade upsell opportunities (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Review and act on consolidated sales KPIs across all branches, including:
    Close rate, Average ticket/revenue per lead, Gross margin %, Technician-generated leads, Financing penetration, Discount governance compliance.
  • Identify systemic performance gaps and deploy structured improvement plans through Sales Managers.
Revenue Growth & Margin Protection.
  • Own total sales revenue performance across all assigned branches.
  • Drive top-line growth through improved sales discipline, opportunity conversion, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Partner with Operations, Service, Install, and Dispatch leaders to align sales execution with capacity, scheduling, and job quality.
  • Enforce pricing standards and margin protection through consistent discount governance and centralized pricing systems.
  • Lead seasonal readiness planning, peak-demand execution, and off-season demand generation strategies.
Sales Leadership Development & Coaching Systems
  • Develop, coach, and mentor Sales Managers as leaders—focusing on:
    Coaching effectiveness, KPI literacy, Performance management, Talent development, Standardize coaching rhythms, performance reviews, and field training expectations across all branches.
  • Leverage AI-enabled coaching tools (e.g., Rilla Voice) to scale insight, reinforce script adherence, and improve objection handling.
  • Ensure consistent onboarding, training, and development programs for Comfort Advisors and sales-driven technicians through Sales Managers.
  • Build succession plans and identify high-potential sales leadership talent.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of sales leadership experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or residential home services. Annual revenue managed $100+M.
  • Prior experience leading sales leaders (Sales Managers or equivalent) in a multi-location environment.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth, improving close rates, and protecting margins at scales.
  • Strong executive-level coaching, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Deep understanding of in-home residential sales psychology and value-based selling.
  • High proficiency in KPI-driven management and CRM systems (Service Titan strongly prefer
  • Ability to travel between branches (approximately 25–40%).
  • Strong business acumen and data literacy—able to translate metrics into leadership action.
