Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for all aspects of assigned projects and is expected to be able to manage the more challenging and larger scope projects within the company, including full EPC projects of over $100 MM contract value. The SPM works directly with engineering and design, procurement, fabrication, quality, safety, project controls, document control, accounting, and construction management groups.

The SPM is a primary point of contact with clients, vendors, contractors/sub-contractors, third party service providers, attorneys, and regulatory agencies. This position focuses on meeting the needs of the project and continuously tracking all phases of a project from inception through completion. The SPM is responsible for monitoring all aspects of her/his projects (safety, quality, schedule, spending, profitability, documentation, etc.)

and is responsible for implementing corrective measures to address deviations from the plan. The SPM reports to and works under the general supervision of the Director of Project Management. The SPM may provide day-to-day supervision of Project Managers assisting on her/his projects. This description is an outline and is not intended to list all duties and responsibilities.

• Motivate and lead a multidisciplinary team through all stages of initiation, execution, and closeout of capital projects greater than $100MM
• Bear overall responsibility for monitoring the performance of employees assigned to the project team
• Assume overall responsibility for the initiation and execution of projects as assigned
• Coordinate the efforts of all contributors to the project
• Well versed in the contract language, maintaining the team focus within the project scope
• Capable of identifying scope of work deviations resulting in change orders, thus maintaining an orderly and concise project scope of work
• Ensure that projects are delivered on-time and on-budget, meeting all BCCK, client and contractual requirements
• Provide oversight and direction to assisting Project Managers
• Ensure excellent communications among project team members
• Ensure project visibility to maintain customer confidence including managing customer expectations
• Ability to identify potential problems, including the formulation and implementation of recovery solutions
• In conjunction with the Project Controls group, develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, cash flow reports and forecasts, and identify and report the explanations for variances to upper management
• Enforce company policies and procedures with respect to project management
• Conduct project planning and status meetings with project team members, BCCK management, and client representatives
• Delegate project-related tasks and follow up to confirm results
• Oversee cost estimation, equipment selection, procurement tracking, permitting submittals, construction supervision, plant start-up and project completion/closeout
• Maintain a working knowledge of required permitting processes and assist in the preparation of permit applications
• Work with team members to ensure all project documentation is in place, such as but not limited to, insurance coverage certificates, performance bond, builder’s risk, tax exemption certificates, corporate state registration, as may be required for the proper execution of each project
