A well-established industrial materials organization is seeking a hands-on Terminal Operations Manager to lead daily operations at a high-volume bulk materials facility in the East Houston area. This individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining rigorous safety standards, and ensuring seamless coordination between inventory, logistics, and customer fulfillment.
This is a leadership role requiring strong operational oversight, team development, and cost management experience within a distribution, terminal, or heavy industrial environment.
Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day terminal operations, ensuring safe, efficient handling and storage of bulk materials
- Oversee inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent supply disruptions
- Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify efficiency improvements
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure on-time customer delivery
- Champion safety initiatives and ensure full compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company standards
- Supervise, mentor, and develop frontline employees to build a high-performing team
- Conduct regular safety meetings, facility inspections, and preventative maintenance oversight
- Partner cross-functionally with supply chain, logistics, and commercial teams to meet service expectations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, safety, and quality
- 5+ years of leadership experience in terminal operations, bulk materials, manufacturing, or industrial distribution
- Strong background in facility operations, maintenance, and equipment oversight
- Proven experience managing frontline teams in a safety-sensitive environment
- Solid understanding of inventory management and logistics coordination
- Budget management and cost control experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on operational setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred
