OVERVIEW
S&B is currently seeking a Construction Manager to provide overall management direction for field construction projects; may on occasion be placed in the overall responsible position of a project in which case the additional duties of the Project Manager will also apply.

Position will supervise Project Superintendents, Craft Superintendent(s), General Foreman, and Foreman positions.
EDUCATIONFour-year degree or equivalent experience.
Years in Construction Management: 4 years.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEMust have a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Construction Manager role. Must be able to effectively manage projects that range in varying size and complexity. Must be able to manage projects with a direct hire scope of 750,000 – 2MM manhours. Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance. Must have sound knowledge of cost and schedule adherence.
Additionally, you must possess the skills to employ tact, diplomacy and influence.
Must possess the required skills to understand and manage the inter-working relationships between various craft trades including subcontractors, and the ability to anticipate and implement corrective actions to limit potential labor-related disputes.
Computer Skills and Digital Collaboration Expectations- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is for effective communication, reporting, and documentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams is, including participation in virtual meetings, collaboration through chat and channels, document sharing, and coordination with distributed project teams.
- Ability to effectively use digital tools to support project coordination, reporting, scheduling updates, and communication across engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams.
- Comfort working in a technology-enabled construction environment, including use of laptops, tablets, and mobile devices to access drawings, schedules, procedures, and project data.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving company systems, software platforms, and digital workflows as project and business needs change.
- Report to the assigned AOM, VP of Field Operations, and Sr. VP of EPC and Construction.
- Make decisions and recommendations, which can greatly impact corporate relationships with clients and project profitability.
- Plan, organize and staff key field positions through department heads.
- Implement, manage and provide safety leadership to ensure zero injury safety results.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and engineers to facilitate construction activities.
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious delay situations and implement corrective measures.
- Represent the Company in project meetings, assist in any labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect the Company’s interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with the client.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers, and engineers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
