Overview

The Sr Director – Operations (SDO) is responsible for managing the hands‑on operational aspects within the Gulf Coast platform with primary focus on workforce management. The SDO provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively staff and grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.

The role will interface extensively with clinical operations leaders and clinical site leaders, our executive leadership, physicians, along with various external hospital and ASC leaders.

This SDO will leverage clinical staffing data, data insights, and scheduling expertise to drive resource optimization and operational efficiencies. This includes participating in regional strategic planning, evaluating workforce needs with financial implications, capturing best practices, and developing standards for clinical applications in collaboration with IT. The role will lead the execution of strategic initiatives related to scheduling, staffing, resource planning, fostering change management and win‑win solutions for USAP and physician partners.

The Sr Director – Operations will partner with CGB leadership, local Finance department, applicable MSO leaders, and corporate partners within the scheduling organizations and the analytics organization to develop and implement best practices in the areas of scheduling, staffing and resource planning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides leadership and management to a growing physician practice management organization.
  • Interacts and collaborates with the clinical leadership of the platform.
  • Oversees, directs, and collaborates for developing a strategic plan and execution necessary to surpass revenue, profitability, cash flow, business goals and objectives throughout the company’s operations.
  • Responsible for effectiveness of internal and external workforce planning processes for the platform.
  • Oversees development of timely, accurate and complete reports on operating conditions of the company.
  • Oversees management teams for information technology/systems related to operational processes and scheduling.
  • Leads development, communication, and implementation of growth strategies and processes to support the platform’s strategies.
  • Develops and maintains infrastructure of operating systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate organizational growth.
  • Attracts, recruits, retains, motivates, and leads management team.
  • Mentors team, responsible for career development.
  • Helps foster a success‑oriented, accountable company culture.
  • Responsible for evaluating, implementing, enhancing, and expanding new practice management systems to meet the workforce planning goals.
  • Develops and maintains understanding of Financial Reporting and operation of assigned divisions, including presentations and communications with physicians.
  • Develops and maintains full understanding of hospital and ASC based Anesthesia department operations.
  • Collaborates with Finance and CGB leadership to create applicable board presentations and monthly meeting agendas and other materials needed.
  • Represents the organization with customers, shareholders, and business partners.
Qualifications KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs)
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master’s degree in business preferred.
  • Strongly preferred healthcare administration experience in an integrated hospital delivery system, large medical group of $50+ million revenues, or Joint Venture.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with data analytics, schedule forecasting, or workforce planning.
  • Strong project management and change leadership experience.
  • Extremely strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated; with the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience managing teams.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills necessary to work cooperatively with physicians, all staff members, and external customers. Must have a pleasant disposition and high tolerance level for diverse personalities.
