- Provide strategic leadership of and subject matter expertise in assurance and harmonization initiatives for SIF and Event Analysis.
- Facilitate SIF determination meeting.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of SIF/PSIF (Potential Serious Injury & Fatality) corrective actions.
- Complete trend analyses for SIF/PSIF statistics and provide quarterly reports of trends, through formal reporting channels.
- Serve as the organizational subject matter expert for SIF classification ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely application of SIF criteria across all events.
- Design and lead an effective SIF classification meeting process, including defining the structure, criteria, and engagement approach, and ensuring Operations are meaningfully and consistently integrated into the workflow.
- Collaborate to lead event analysis for people and motor vehicle significant events, ensuring business unit representatives are aligned with consistent analysis practices, identification and development internal analysis experts, support of event analysis for events identified as serious through the SIF classification process, cross‑BU trending.
- Act as subject matter expert in Event Analysis at Enbridge.
- Support to drive implementation of enterprise High Energy Control Assessments (HECA) approach for identification and analysis.
- Related university degree in a related field, preferably in Occupational Health & Safety or business and seven or more years of related work experience with a minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in the areas of Safety. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in managing external collaborators through effective engagement.
- Ability to connect with a wide audience, including employees, all levels of management, industry associations and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize complex information and write concise documents and correspondence to various audiences.
- Ability to clearly articulate strategic ideas and to build strategic plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including consultation, influencing, negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution.
- Able to balance multiple projects at once, under constant deadline pressure.
- Field related experience is required.
- Experience with building and delivery of safety prevention programs with focused knowledge in high reliability performance, human factors, and application of safety culture models.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, tactical, and initiate and manage change. To work collaboratively, negotiate, influence without authority, facilitate, solve problems, make decisions, work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and deliver results.
- Experience or exposure to system safety/process safety is a strong asset.
- Experience developing management systems and programs would be an asset.
- Formal leadership training to support the execution of effective leadership practices will be an asset.
- Approximately 90% Office Environment‑vs‑10% in a field or operating facility and at outside operations in all types of weather.
