Weaver Consultants Group is looking for a motivated individual to join our growing Health and Safety Team as a Field Health & Safety Specialist Nationwide. While this posting is in Houston, TX, we are seeking candidates located in several major metropolitan areas such as Atlanta, GA, Salt Lake City, UT, Austin, TX, Fort Worth/Dallas, TX, Nashville, TN, and Phoenix, AZ. Selected candidates must live within 100 miles of a large hub or core airport in the contiguous United States (ATL, BNA, BOS, CLT, DAL, DCA, DEN, DFW, DTW, IAH, JFK, LAS, LAX, MCO, MIA, MSP, ORD, PHL, PHX, SEA, SFO, SLC).
Responsibilities- Review accident/incident reports.
- Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics, including noise levels and the use of machinery.
- Assist with organizing the Company’s annual safety training.
- Coordinate with the Health & Safety Manager to plan, develop, and assist in field training.
- Conduct field risk assessments and provide training on preventative measures.
- Ensure all applicable internal and external reporting requirements are met accurately and timely.
- Remain current on all company policies and safety and health standards.
- Conduct incident reviews for injuries, near misses, property damage, or auto incidents.
- Partner with supervisors and principals on appropriate corrective actions when warranted.
- Initiate, coordinate, and complete safety projects consistent with corporate policy.
- Develop and track leading and lagging performance metrics relative to goals.
- Develop and direct the HSE (Health Safety and Environmental) auditing process to include inspections and analysis.
- Conduct behavior-based safety observations and site safety inspections.
- Lead and coordinate site emergency response efforts.
- Review Site Specific Health and Safety Plans (SSHSPs) and Pre-Job Hazard Analyses (PJHAs).
- Monitor Geotab GPS tracking devices and composite scores to advise principals/supervisors of necessary corrective action.
- Create or modify safety briefing meetings based on observed incidents.
- Track and tabulate incident data and prepare annual compliance reports for Incident Rates, DART Rates, and Experience Modification Ratings.
- Assist in reporting at monthly Senior Project Manager meetings on safety committee highlights, safety initiatives, YTD incident numbers, and related topics.
- Present health and safety topics and statistics at principal meetings as requested.
- Act as a resource for all employee health and safety questions, inquiries, and concerns.
- Consult on and maintain an effective medical surveillance program.
- Consult on auto insurance and best practices.
- Develop best practices for safety, including metrics and goals.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
- 1‑3 years of progressive environmental, industrial, or construction health and safety experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
- Willingness to travel throughout the United States (up to 75% of the time) to various job locations.
- Willingness to work in remote areas.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal, detail-oriented, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards.
- Ability to lead, coach, and mentor.
- 40‑Hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Professional safety certification (e.g., ASP, CSP, CHST).
