Employment Type: Full time
Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility, based on experience, skills, and geographic market considerations.
Location: Houston, TX (Remote); candidates must reside in or around Houston, TX.
ROLE SUMMARYThe Project Manager (PM) owns the fulfillment of assigned projects, exceeding customer expectations and ensuring profit protection. This role manages the order process of educational fixtures and furniture from order entry to delivery scheduling, installation coordination, onsite project management, and punch list processing. The PM leads through influence and detailed planning, coordinating with customers, vendors, installers, and the Studio team. The PM oversees all tasks, critical dates, client and third‑party interface through the Insights customer portal, client relations, performance quality, budget, and project administration for each assigned project.
ESSENTIALRESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning, Coordination and Management
- Attends project meetings to establish overall scope with Studio Team and manage project from purchase order through completion.
- Collaborates with the Studio Team to deliver an exceptional customer journey.
- Directs, coordinates, and manages tasks, assignments, and completion for the entire studio and project team.
- Coordinates with studio team to develop work plans, schedule, and logistics based on project parameters and customer goals.
- Reviews project site, plans, and product specifications.
- Ensures complete turnover of all project information—including plans, notes, room door lists, and post‑order receipt notes—to the Studio team.
- Acts as the single point of contact for client and suppliers.
- Communicates proactively and effectively with customers and provides detailed project updates.
Project Administration
- Maintains detailed project documentation of key decisions, customer requests, and revisions.
- Provides timely, formal written communications throughout the project to client, third parties, and Meteor project team.
- Manages accurate and detailed record keeping, including receipt documentation, timesheets, contract adherence, sign‑offs, approvals, and key decision records.
- Maintains Insights in concert with the Learning Environment Specialist to ensure current and accurate information for the customer during and after installation.
Project/Installation Implementation
- Co‑ordinates with Studio Project Coordinator (PC) and Learning Environment Specialist (Sales) under standardized practice, planning, scheduling, and managing installations with third‑party installation companies.
- Collaborates with the Studio Team to deliver an exceptional customer journey.
- Performs on‑site leadership, strategic site visits, and attends walk‑throughs as required.
- Supervises site furniture and fixture installation, including work performance, installation administration, and timeliness.
- Keeps current with the ERP database, all acknowledgments, estimated delivery dates, continuous follow‑up, and expedites with freight suppliers and factories.
- Manages and instructs Meteor logistics team on freight cost coordination and delivery schedule.
- Reviews open projects and the Unbooked Sales Report weekly to ensure all forecasted dates are up‑to‑date.
- Ensures submission of all proof‑of‑delivery documents and field paperwork in a timely manner.
- Frequent or overnight travel is required for this position.
Punch and Project Close‑Out
- Performs project walk‑through and develops punch list with the third‑party installer, resolving punch items.
- Confirms project completion.
- Manages all final project close‑out requirements, including contract requirements and client sign‑offs.
- Coordinates with billing to ensure timely invoice submission.
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Proficient in Salesforce software.
- Attends training within the first 30 days and develops proficiency with Meteor‑specific software, including the Insights Customer Portal and ERP.
