OVERVIEW:
The Sr. Manager, Community Outreach is a key member of the 2-1-1 Texas/United Way HELPLINE leadership team. The Sr. Manager effectively manages and directs the operations of Community Resources, Outreach, Disaster, and Data Analytics ensuring continued alignment with strategic initiatives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership in the implementation and continuous improvement of the 2-1-1 Texas/United Way HELPLINE with a focus on increasing substantive community impact. Oversees all aspects of planning, managing and expanding the outreach operation for the HELPLINE. Promotes awareness and utilization of the HELPLINE with service providers and community partners.
- Provides leadership through talent management and people development to ensure the continued development of the Community Resource Database as an effective, up-to-date technological system, as well as the Community Needs Dashboard, a public-facing, interactive dashboard of community needs.
- Manages center tours and speaking engagements with special emphasis on tours by donor companies to include senior level and influential volunteers. Coordinates community education, marketing activities and resource development. Participates in emergency management response efforts during major disasters, leading 2-1-1's response.
- Supports the AVP in managing contracts, grants, and associated programmatic guidance and compliance requirements including submitting monthly reports, reviewing budgets, submitting invoices to funders (in conjunction with Finance Department), etc.
- Supports HELPLINE by answering incoming calls as needed. Participates in relevant professional organizations and committees and represents United Way at key events to increase awareness of 211 Texas/United Way HELPLINE. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor towards integrating division activity with the United Way strategic plan. Works collaboratively and with select cross-functional taskforces and committees. As an essential employee, may be required to work extended hours and/or times other than normal business hours.
Bachelors or better in Social Work or related field.
PreferredMasters or better in Social Work.
ExperienceRequired7 years:Proven experience supporting community outreach initiatives, including the provision of direct social services. Must have demonstrated leadership in helpline/call center management, social services programs or case management, including staff supervision. Proven experience with community resources, budgeting, grant management, programmatic compliance, public speaking, strategic thinking, and excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be willing to work on-call and during times of disaster.
