Associate Director – Engineering (Facilities)
The role is responsible for leading the strategic planning, development, and execution of all aspects related to facilities management of the Houston API Manufacturing. The Associate Director provides leadership and direction to the overall site facilities in coordination with engineering and maintenance groups. The Associate Director ensures site maintenance and reliability deliverables are sufficiently resourced and qualified to support the API Manufacturing, including Small Molecule and Oligonucleotide production goals and business agenda.
Responsibilities- Responsible for supervising and coaching site facilities engineers and other staff, including completing performance reviews and development planning.
- Delivering site facility services and their supporting systems and operations.
- Manage external contracts, resources as well as internal technical and project management resources, as required.
- Provide site facilities maintenance work coordination in support of all manufacturing areas and site objectives and provide maintenance input to key functional groups and partners.
- Ensure site facilities maintenance planning, scheduling, and work completion meet the site business needs.
- In coordination with engineering and maintenance function, set and reinforce standards for building maintenance and reliability into the overall site facilities.
- Ensure compliance with corporate maintenance and reliability performance expectations (PM execution performance, reliability roadmap, etc.). Actively work within the global engineering/Engineering Tech Center network to ensure alignment with corporate initiatives and utilization of best practices.
- Support site governance through participation, influence and leadership in cross functional meetings and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain metrics to measure performance against business objectives and make necessary changes to improve performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role supporting manufacturing, preferably in an API or chemical manufacturing facility.
- Ability to collaborate with a team, make independent decisions, and influence diverse groups.
- Ability to instill teamwork within the department and demonstrate key interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide innovative solutions to plant, divisional, and corporate issues, and leverage ideas from other functional areas.
- Be a role model for team members in terms of performance and behaviors. Help people improve their performance and close performance gaps with appropriate training, professional development, and coaching interventions.
