Accounting Manager# Accounting ManagerHOUSTON, TX 77008## Overview Salary Range $90,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary/year Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education  Level4 Year Degree Category Accounting ## Description SUMMARY   Directs financial activities of an organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.

Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.

Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.

Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.

Arranges for audits of company's accounts.

Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.

Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES   Directly supervises employees in the accounting department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.## QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE   Four year college or university program certificate.

LANGUAGE SKILLS   Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS   Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY   Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Fluent in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point applications.
