AboutThe Position
Belmont Village is now hiring an Activities and Memory Care Specialist.
This position is responsible for providing on‑site, hands‑on management of either memory care programs or Independent‑Assisted Living programs when there is a need created by vacancy, on‑boarding or special mentoring requirement at a Belmont Village Senior Living community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThis is an interim position that will assume all authority and responsibility of either DAMP, MPC or APC depending on the assignment. The position works under the supervision of the Regional Leadership Team of Activities and Memory Care and works collaboratively with the Executive Director of the assigned building.
As Interim APC- Designs, implements and maintains the systems and programs for the Independent and Assisted Living residents, including management of the Belmont Brand through communication channels such as a monthly calendar of events and activities, themed decorations and bulletin boards, and themed meals and events.
- Manages transportation needs of residents, including hiring and supervision of drivers, and designing and implementing transportation schedules.
- Ensures person‑centered programming for all residents through understanding each resident’s life story, needs, abilities and preferences and records life stories in Sen Sys.
- Implements and maintains the systems and programs of the Neighborhood and the Circle of Friends in accordance with state regulations and to Belmont’s standards, policies, and procedures.
- Functions as the pillar of dementia expertise for the building through regular communication with the management team during Transition Team Meetings, playing a key role in admission assessments and all decisions related to appropriate level of care, and conducting monthly Advanced Dementia Care training for all new and annual renewal company‑wide staff.
- Hires, evaluates and supervises Enrichment Leaders for all Belmont programs.
- Hires, evaluates and supervises Neighborhood PALs.
- Ensures high quality programming, 7‑days a week
- Creates monthly calendar of activities and events that achieve a balance of leisure and therapeutic activities including Whole Brain Fitness and MBA specialty programs
- Hires and/or delegates hiring of vendors to supplement programs
- Encourages strong attendance
- Maintains bulletin boards
- Designs fliers and other communication tools
- Meets individually with residents or in groups to advertise activities and events
- Plays key role in design and implementation of building‑wide events, festivals and campaigns
- Manages transportation department
- Hire, trains, supervises drivers
- Maintains vans and Belmont car
- Supervises transportation schedule and transportation priorities
- Supervises the Neighborhood PAL staff and the Neighborhood Enrichment Leaders
- Ensures adequate staffing through collaboration with staff scheduler
- Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates Neighborhood PALs and Enrichment Leaders
- Works collaboratively with Director of Resident Care Services to supervise licensed nurse assigned to the Neighborhood
- Conducts ongoing quality assurance using specified assessment tools
- Ensures the Neighborhood scripted day structure is maintained.
- Ensures the quality of the Neighborhood’s meal organization, delivery, and service.
- Ensures complete and consistent documentation with all Neighborhood functions.
- Ensures a safe and secure environment for both residents and Neighborhood staff.
- Conducts and coordinates dementia orientation and in‑service training for all staff in compliance with state regulations and Belmont standards.
