Pacific International has been retained by leading chemical manufacturing organization for a Director of Environmental, Health, & Safety. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for shaping and advancing enterprise-wide safety, environmental, and compliance strategies across a multi-site operation.
This individual will play a critical role in strengthening a culture of safety and accountability, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding best-in-class EHS practices throughout the organization. Acting as a key partner to executive leadership, this leader will drive both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational improvements that enhance performance, mitigate risk, and support long-term growth and sustainability objectives.
Job Responsibilities- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to executive leadership on all environmental, health, safety, and process safety matters.
- Develop and execute the organization’s enterprise-wide EHS strategy, aligned with operational excellence, sustainability goals, and long-term growth priorities.
- Lead and continuously improve the EHS management system, including policies, standards, governance processes, and performance metrics.
- Champion a culture of safety focused on zero injuries, proactive risk identification, and continuous improvement across all sites.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements and all applicable environmental and regulatory standards.
- Partner with site leadership, operations, and legal teams to implement practical and effective EHS programs and drive consistent standards across the organization.
- Establish and monitor leading and lagging performance indicators to track progress, drive accountability, and improve outcomes.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing EHS organization, including talent development, succession planning, and capability building.
- Support business growth initiatives, including acquisitions and capital projects, by providing EHS due diligence, risk assessment, and integration leadership.
- Advance sustainability initiatives related to environmental performance, energy efficiency, and responsible operations.
- Proven experience leading EHS functions at a senior or executive level within complex, multi-site industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Deep expertise in OSHA PSM, environmental regulations, and EHS best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to build and advance enterprise EHS systems, programs, and performance metrics.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of driving culture change and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience influencing stakeholders across all organizational levels, including executive leadership and plant operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, evolving environments while managing multiple priorities and driving measurable results.
- Background in chemical manufacturing or other high-hazard, highly regulated industries preferred.
