Job Summary:We are seeking a NERC Compliance Manager to lead our NERC compliance program for a renewable power generation fleet. This position is responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the organization's compliance management framework to ensure adherence to applicable NERC and Region-specific Reliability Standards and related regulatory obligations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing NERC compliance programs, regulatory audits, internal controls, compliance risk, and technical knowledge of renewable power generation systems, including wind, solar PV and battery storage.
Key Responsibilities:NERC Compliance Program Leadership Manage the Company's NERC Compliance Program across all applicable registered functions and assets.
Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve compliance policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls.
Establish program governance, accountability structures, and performance metrics to ensure sustained compliance.
Monitor emerging NERC, Regional Entity, FERC, ERCOT, and other regulatory requirements and assess impacts to the Company's compliance program.
Provide regular compliance program updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Technical Leadership Provide subject matter expertise regarding compliance requirements affecting wind, solar PV generation facilities, battery energy storage systems, and associated electrical infrastructure.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance requirements are incorporated into system design, operational practices, and project development activities.
Manage strategic vendor relationships and service contracts supporting the NERC Compliance Program, including contract administration, scope oversight, invoice review and approval, budget tracking, and leadership of recurring vendor governance meetings.
Team Leadership & Training Supervise and mentor compliance personnel and consultants supporting the compliance program.
Foster a culture of accountability, regulatory stewardship, and continuous improvement throughout the organization
Develop and deliver compliance awareness, training, and competency programs for applicable personnel.
Reporting & Documentation Prepare executive-level reports on compliance status, risk exposure, audit readiness, and program performance.
Maintain accurate and auditable compliance records, supporting documentation, and evidence repositories.
Develop management dashboards, compliance metrics, and key performance indicators to support decision-making and governance activities.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes through automation, analytics, and emerging technologies.
Support development and deployment of AI-enabled compliance monitoring and reporting capabilities within applicable regulatory frameworks.
Lead initiatives that improve program efficiency while maintaining regulatory compliance and audit defensibility.
Qualifications:Required Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Compliance, Business, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, compliance monitoring programs, and regulatory audit processes.
