Description

The Program Manager, Student Organizations and Leadership provides operational oversight for student organization support and development, leadership initiatives, civic and community engagement programs, and related student engagement systems. Supervises assigned staff and manages implementation of programs, services, communication, assessment, and administrative processes within assigned functional areas. Oversees student organization operations and engagement systems and coordinates leadership development opportunities, campus and community partnerships, and resources to support student development and achievement of departmental goals.

Duties
  • Manages student organization support and development processes including registration, training, communication, engagement initiatives, and administration of related systems and services.
  • Coordinates leadership initiatives and supports planning, implementation, and evaluation of leadership programs and student leadership experiences.
  • Oversees civic and community engagement initiatives including service programs, volunteer engagement efforts, and related partnerships and outreach.
  • Advises the Activities Funding Board and oversees related processes, funding administration, training, and decision implementation.
  • Supervises assigned staff and student leadership teams through coaching, performance management, and staff development.
  • Administers engagement systems and operational processes including workflows, records, communication, and service coordination.
  • Coordinates assessment, evaluation, and reporting activities and utilizes findings to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborates with office staff on all department programs, special projects, and other community building events.
  • Collaborates with staff outside of the Center for Student Engagement to host events and activities.
  • Serves on divisional and university-wide committees and advisory boards as well as supports late night and weekend programming.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Communication, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a higher education environment working in student engagement, student organizations, leadership development, civic engagement, student success, or related areas.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Progressively responsible experience supporting student organizations, leadership initiatives, program development, or related student engagement functions.

    • Knowledge of student engagement, student organization development, and leadership practices.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functional areas.
    • Skills in administration of engagement systems, records, and operational processes.
    • Knowledge of program administration, assessment, and operational processes.
    • Knowledge of group dynamics, supervision, and student development practices.
    • Skills in collaborative planning, implementation, and coordination of programs and services.
    • Ability to assess situations, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to supervise, train, and develop staff and student leaders.
