Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager - RPLS a MUST with 5+ years of post-licensure progressive experience to join our team in the Austin or Houston, TX offices.

In this position, you will act as an Operations Manager/Senior Operations Manager in the execution of various public and private sector geospatial assignments. You will direct teams of technicians and field crews to complete large-scale public and private works improvement projects, while coordinating responsibilities with other discipline leads at WGI.

Responsibilities
  • Support and lead business development efforts
  • Lead, mentor, and manage team members through continuous performance management to include goal setting, coaching, feedback and one-on-one meetings
  • Collaborate with other departments and discipline leads in scheduling objectives and project milestones
  • Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and professional growth
  • Represent the firm professionally in meetings with existing and prospective clients, and at industry events and conferences
  • Oversee and execute land surveying activities, including boundary analysis for large-scale corridor, route, and commercial land surveys
  • Manage project time-lines and budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to project deliverables
  • Sign and seal surveys, maps, and other survey-related documents as the responsible professional
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices for team members
  • Perform in-process quality control of survey field activities, calculations, and project deliverables
Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas
  • 5+ years of post-licensure progressive experience
  • Associates or Bachlor Degree in Geomatics preferred
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with Micro Station, Open Roads Designer, and Civil3D preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of surveying software and geospatial technologies
  • Strong understanding of land surveying principles, practices, and methodologies
  • Strong leadership, managerial, and supervisory experience
  • Strong communication, writing, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
