Contracts Manager, Strategic Contracting (OFE)

We are seeking a Contracts Manager for Strategic Contracting, with experience and knowledge in contract formation, management, and execution of large and complex equipment and services agreements in the Power and/or LNG industry. The Contracts Manager for Strategic Contracting will lead the negotiation of terms and conditions with major Original Equipment Manufacturers and Contractors, lead the contract management function for Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) Strategic Contracting, oversee the administration of variation management, claims, reporting, acceptance and closeout processes for assigned complex contracts associated with the OFE contracts for the Company’s strategic projects.
The Contracts Manager for Strategic Contracting will participate in a multi-disciplinary team that provides contracts lifecycle support.
The Contracts Manager for Strategic Contracting will report to the OFE Contracts Director and support the OFE Project Teams as necessary. This position will be located in Houston, TX.
Key Responsibilities- Draf, redline, and negotiate complex agreements with strategic sellers and contractors, in coordination with the OFE team and assigned Company’s legal counsel.
- Manage the contract administration function on assigned business units.
- Lead and mentor a team of contract administration professionals.
- Collaborate with Venture Global’s team of Subject Matter Experts to define strategies related to contracting, risk management, controls, and taxes, for all assigned OFE agreements.
- Oversee collaboration with the OFE projects team to evaluate, negotiate and administer change orders, task orders, and amendments.
- Oversee the administration of new change order requests, including scope, price and schedule definition, contractual amendments drafting, internal reviews and approvals, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform entries, and execution, ensuring adherence to Venture Global’s Guidelines and Procedures.
- Support the OFE Project Team in defining strategies for claims related to defects, serial defects, warranty, and acceptance, amongst others.
- Draft strategic official project notifications or official response notices in coordination with technical and commercial experts, legal, and senior Management.
- Ensure compliance with requirements for contractual documents and requisitions upload to the CLM platform and approvals per Company’s DOA, as required, in coordination with the Sourcing and Procurement department.
- Advise the OFE Project Team on contractual questions by performing contract analyses and internal checklists.
- Coordinate projects acceptance and close out in accordance with contractual requirements, in coordination with project controls, legal, and OFE Project team.
- Maintain contract documentation repositories.
- Track and update all activities and progress on assigned agreements in Company’s designated logs.
- Attend management internal and external meetings, as required.
- Attend project kick off meetings, project progress internal and external review meetings, costs review meetings, and quality reviews, as necessary.
- Support other contract administration tasks assigned by the OFE Contracts Director.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s degree.
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience with contract management and negotiation in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) or power industries.
