At Houston Methodist, the Intelligent Automation Program Director position is responsible for driving the enterprise approach to intelligent automation, including AI-enabled, agentic, and workflow automation capabilities across business, clinical, operational, and administrative functions. This position serves as a strategic program resource focused on advancing automation governance, adoption, and value realization while partnering across business and technology teams. The Intelligent Automation Program Director position translates enterprise priorities into automation strategies, operating frameworks, program standards, and roadmaps that enable scalable automation and sustainable implementation, operating as an individual contributor with significant influence across a federated model of delivery teams.
This position collaborates with senior leaders, architects, and delivery teams to ensure alignment to enterprise architecture, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- Ten years' experience in technology, automation, or digital transformation
- Experience working across complex organizations influencing outcomes without direct authority
- Experience supporting enterprise automation programs, including RPA, AI/ML, or workflow orchestration
- PMP - Certified Project Management Professional (PMI)
or - Lean Six Sigma Certification-IASSC
- Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through ongoing skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
- Knowledge of intelligent automation technologies, including RPA, AI/ML, process mining, and agentic automation
- Strong influencing skills, ability to align stakeholders, analytical thinking, and executive communication capabilities
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable program frameworks and drive outcomes through governance and partnerships
- Serves as a strategic program resource focused on advancing automation governance, adoption, and value realization while partnering across business and technology teams.
- Owns the coordination and execution alignment of the enterprise Intelligent Automation program, ensuring stakeholders across business, clinical, and IT functions are aligned to program priorities, standards, frameworks, best practices, and outcomes.
- Drives cross-functional program coordination, synchronizing activities across federated teams to ensure consistent execution and avoid duplication or fragmentation.
- Accountable for end-to-end program delivery of Intelligent Automation initiatives, including execution against roadmap milestones, timelines, and defined outcomes.
- Establishes and manages the enterprise Intelligent Automation roadmap, ensuring prioritization, sequencing, and alignment to organizational priorities.
- Ensures delivery of high-value automation solutions that improve efficiency, experience, and operational performance across the enterprise.
- Translates enterprise priorities into automation strategies, operating frameworks, program standards and roadmaps that enable scalable automation and sustainable implementation.
- Establishes and enforces program governance frameworks, standards, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and data requirements.
- Accountable for program-level risk, issue, and performance management, ensuring proactive identification, escalation, and resolution.
- Accountable for program-level value realization, including tracking ROI, cost savings, and performance outcomes across all automation initiatives.
- Supports financial planning and ensures disciplined investment decisions, aligned to enterprise priorities and defined return thresholds.
- Drives execution of the enterprise Intelligent Automation strategy, including RPA, AI/ML, and agentic automation capabilities.
