GeneralDescription
The Director of Crisis Management and Emergency Response will be based in Houston, Texas. This position will provide leadership and strategic direction for Crisis Management within the company. This position is a key member of the HSSE team, providing leadership, support, and advice to all levels of the company and ensuring we are fully prepared and trained to manage any form of emergency.
The position will require frequent visits to the company’s site and office locations.
- Develop and oversee Emergency Response Plans and related work streams (e.g., PHMSA ERP and public communication requirements) for VG’s LNG terminals and pipelines to support permitting, construction, and operations.
- Own the Company’s hurricane readiness and response plans for all sites.
- Lead (as subject matter expert) key internal customers and stakeholders on all ERP matters.
- Be the leader of the above and the primary point of contact with all regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders.
- Support VG waterway permitting (and permit renewal efforts, e.g., USCG WSA, LOR) with the USCG, Pilot Organizations, Port bodies, other agencies, etc., in collaboration with relevant VG staff in relation to Emergency Response, working closely with other internal stakeholders.
- Work with the security team supporting the response side of the FSP and other Port/Coastguard responsibilities and deliverables.
- Develop and Implement a Crisis Management Process for VG, which encapsulates the requirements of ICs and integration of the ERT, IMT, and CMT structure.
- Ensuring that all levels of the ICs are demonstrably trained and competent to meet legal requirements and receive regular training as required.
- Manage and oversee the Company’s fire response contract and personnel at each site.
- Experience with the development of emergency response planning, including Incident Command System structure and operations.
- Skilled working in coordination with senior local and state emergency response personnel in the development of emergency response planning approaches and solutions, both conceptually and practically.
- Experienced in the development of cost-sharing agreements with local, State, and Federal agencies.
- Ability to accurately understand perspectives of various federal, state, and local agencies and ensure their requirements are met reasonably, logically, and consistent with Company philosophies and commitment boundaries.
- Experience in understanding the various contracts and support necessary to be in place outside of VG’s own resources to support an emergency response due to operational or severe weather events, such as food and logistics, employee support, salvage clearing contracts, etc.
- Experience developing budgets and managing a large workforce with multiple direct and indirect reports.
- Possession of leadership ability and energy to select, direct, manage, and coordinate as-needed internal and external resources to achieve desired results in alignment with budget and schedule targets.
- Ten (10) + years of Disaster/Emergency Response experience at a senior management level.…
